This will give the best location for pressure since it s right after the pump.
Oil temp sensor in oil pan.
Locate the oil temperature sensor in the engine compartment.
Also some stock bearings can be damaged by to high of oil temps if they get over 300 deg.
Not saying i right but that is best i could tell shrug.
Glowshift features a transmission oil pan temperature sensor adapter kit which makes it easy to install a sensor directly into your car or truck s transmission pan or oil pan to monitor oil temperatures.
Disconnect the electrical connector on the oil temperature sensor by disengaging the retainer clip and pulling the connector away.
I recommend the temp sensor in the pan and the pressure sensor where the oem pressure sensor is.
If the temps in the pan get to high the oil can break down and you won t know that if the sensor is in the oil cooler line back to the engine.
If you can put the temp sensor in the oil pan.
What happens is that the oil pan is designed with a closed port where the factory probe screws in and is a nice snug fit in this deep tube that protrudes into the oil but the oem oil temp probe itself is inside this tube and never into the oil itself.
This kit includes everything you need such as the 1 8 27 npt temperature sensor adapter nylon washer nut and plug.
I would suggest cleaning the bottom of the plug of all dirt etc.
The members that have removed this plug state it is real tight and a 10mm allen wrench is needed.
Still a debate going on at another site this is the one i believe was settled on.
Unplug the electrical connector from the oil temperature sensor.
Before cranking on it the sensor at the pan is a low oil sensor.
It will typically be mounted in either the engine block or in the cylinder head.
The pan is the prefered spot for oil temperature because it gives you the average temperature of the oil.
