New Roof Tar Smell In House

Yes we had a new roof put on a few days ago and while they were working i began to smell the tar asphalt smell in my home.

It s been days of us breathing in this toxic smell. I leave the house and come back to a wall of awful stench. We ve been noticing a smell from the roof on hot days kind of like asphalt or tar. By nature houses are full of smells.

Now they are finished and the house stinks of tar. My landlord had a new roof put on the house last december. My guess is maybe it s the insulation or whatnot. It looks great and even better doesn t leak.

Today the roof is finished. I went up on top of the roof and couldn t smell anything just from the inside in parts of the house and only when it s hot outside.
